Message from Mayor Stefan Visotschnig

The Bleiburg Wiesenmarkt – an event that has become an indispensable part of the economic and social life of Southern Carinthia. Every year, we strive to ensure that the Wiesenmarkt offers a mix of industries that reflect the current times. Therefore, I am confident that there will be something for everyone this year as well.

The exhibition area of the Wiesenmarkt has been fully booked for weeks and has been allocated to about 300 exhibitors. This is a sign of how popular the Wiesenmarkt is among exhibitors as well. The Petzenland/Dežela pod Peco Economic Community will once again be represented with an exhibition tent showcasing companies from our region.

It is also worth mentioning the agricultural machinery exhibition, the car show, and the Alpen-Adria exhibition, which has been a staple for 27 years. The culinary offerings are also a highlight.

For decades, the Wiesenmarkt has been a major promotional event for the shopping town of Bleiburg. Many businesses are successfully represented here, and for many, it brings the 13th and 14th monthly revenue.

Let’s not forget the follow-up business throughout the year, and – most importantly – at the Wiesenmarkt, you can still buy things that are not available online.

Entertainment is also well taken care of, whether in the amusement park or in the tents. What makes us proud is that the Bleiburg Wiesenmarkt has become an open and cross-cultural festival.

During these Wiesenmarkt days, Bleiburg becomes the largest shopping center in Carinthia combined with the biggest party mile in our region.

Please be mindful of the parking restrictions, as there are plenty of parking spaces in close proximity to the Wiesenmarkt area. There is a Postbus shuttle service throughout much of the Völkermarkt district at affordable prices. Additionally, for the first time this year, ÖBB is offering special trains until 01:30 AM towards Wolfsberg and Klagenfurt.
